Lawrence Elentukh is a Medford-based artist, best known for his textured oil and mixed media paintings. His work can be found in local exhibits around Boston and on Instagram @levisions_gallery. As a self-taught painter and university-taught engineer, he understands the importance of creative expression for humanity’s liberty (as well as life and pursuit of happiness), and has a first-hand view of the evolution/revolution of AI. With his latest art piece, Rend[er] evokes the dichotomy of artificial ‘intelligence’ image generation; as it artificially renders content, it acts to rend human creativity and suppress independent thought. Let’s put down our phones, pick up our paintbrushes, and not let it think or create for us
